More on Stewardship
Good Morning,
Stewardship is much more than money; it is how we live from day to day.
1. Money represents our time.
2. If you make $10 an hour and give $10 to the work of Christ, this means you gave an hour of your life to the cause of Christ.
3. If you make $10 an hour, and I make $20 an hour, and we both give $10 dollars, who gave the most? You gave an hour and I gave 30 min.
4. It is not for me to judge your stewardship, It is for me to judge my stewardship.
5. What am I doing with the time, talents, and treasures that God has given me to use for His glory?
Why should we teach about stewardship?
1. The New Testament talks more about money than it does Heaven or Hell.
2. Almost all stories in the Bible deal in some way with our money, our time, or our possessions.
3. 11 of 39 parables talk about money.
4. 1 out of every 7 verses in the Gospel of Luke talks about money.
5. Some say there are more than 800 verses that deal with money.
Stewardship is using our time, our talents, and our treasures in a way that is pleasing to God.
Everything belongs to God.
Psalm 24:1 "The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein."
Everything belongs to God, and it is up to God to decide how it is suppose to be used.
1. My hands, my eyes, my home, and my marriage should all be stewarded for God’s glory.
2. It is not about me!
3. The big differences between humanism and Bible Christianity:
a. Bible Christianity: is all about the the Lord Jesus Christ
b. Humanism teaches: it is all about man
4. We are to put God first; everything should be about God!
Colossians 1:18 “And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.”
